Welcome to your new life! Becoming a Muslim is a beginning, not a finish line. The Prophet ﷺ taught that the most beloved deeds to Allah are the small, consistent ones. Don't try to do everything at once — build steadily.
"Take on only as much as you can do, for Allah does not tire until you tire."— Sahih al-Bukhari
This roadmap is a gentle suggestion — go at your own pace, and lean on the community whenever you need.
📅 A Milestone Roadmap
Month 1Settle in. Make your ghusl, learn Al-Fātiḥah, and start praying — even one prayer a day to begin. Save the masjid's contact and make a Muslim friend.
Month 2Build the prayer. Work toward all five daily prayers. Master wuḍū' and the prayer movements with our prayer guide.
Month 3Memorize more. Learn a few short surahs (Al-Ikhlāṣ, Al-Falaq, An-Nās) and the morning & evening adhkār.
Months 4–5Connect with the Qur'an. Begin reading a translation regularly. Start learning the Arabic alphabet if you can.
Month 6Strengthen character. Focus on honesty, kindness to family, and good company. Keep up the prayers as a firm habit.
Months 7–8Learn the pillars. Understand zakāt and fasting. Try some voluntary fasts (Mondays/Thursdays).
Month 9Experience Ramadan. Fast the month with the community, attend Taraweeh, and feel the spirit of the season — pace yourself.
Months 10–12Keep growing. Deepen your knowledge, build daily habits of dhikr and du'ā, and consider learning about Hajj for the future.
💡 Keys to Staying Strong
Good company. Surround yourself with patient, practicing Muslims who lift you up.
Stay connected to the masjid. Come for prayers, classes, and events — belonging matters.
Ask freely. No question is too small. Find a mentor or local imam you can turn to.
Forgive yourself. You will slip — everyone does. Repent, get back up, and keep moving.
Protect your faith. Be patient and wise with family who may not understand yet; remain kind and dutiful.
Make du'ā for steadfastness:"Yā muqallib al-qulūb, thabbit qalbī ʿalā dīnik" — "O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion."
